Makeup-Suggested makeup is that dancers should wear foundation and concealer to match their skin tone (contour optional), eyeshadows in light brown or neutral colors, black eyeliner, black mascara on top lashes, red lipstick, and a light touch of highlighter. Finish with setting spray to hold makeup in place! For younger dancers, we leave makeup up to the parents discretion.
Hair- Bun or PonyTail depends on class.
Bun- pull hair straight back into a high bun on the crown of the head, use a hair net to secure the bun and prevent flyaways.
Ponytail- part their hair down the center and slick it back into a low ponytail at the nape of the neck. Use an elastic that matches the dancer’s hair color, plenty of gel or hairspray and a soft-bristled brush. The ponytail itself should be neat- straightened, curled or natural hair texture all are fine. Hair should be secured with an elastic that matches the dancer’s hair color or a clear rubber band.
Jewelry- Please remove all jewelry. Stud earrings are allowed if they can’t be removed—no other jewelry or bright colored nail polish permitted (nude/pale colors are fine).
-
Costumes are handed out in class 2-3 weeks before the recital.
Tights are included in your recital fee.
Make sure no underwear or straps are visible under costumes. Dancers with costume changes should wear a nude-colored leotard underneath.
